July 2007 update : Our breeding programme is on hold for the time being, but detailed below is how we reared our little of scotties over the past years.
Agi reared three litters during her first 5 years, Izzy has successfully raised three litters and Kelpie had her first litter in March 2001.The new owners of our Scottie puppies have all remained in contact with us and we are one big happy family. Many happy hours are spent discussing the antics of each individual puppy and it seems to us that they are all alike. I think if you swapped one of them for a day you wouldn't notice the difference - they're all mad!!!We have an excellent relationship with the owners of the Stud Dog who has helped produce such wonderful puppies. Alison Kenny has been a tremendous help to us over the years and it's a delight visiting her home to see her own pack of special little scotties.
PUPPY REARING Both Steve and I put a lot of effort into rearing Sparhawk Scotties. We ensure they are handled at all times, in fact from the minute they are born, in order for them to become used to human contact. We introduce them to either new territories or new objects as quickly as they develop.
Izzy looking at Kelpie, one of her first born. Kelpie is the little puppy we kept, who has developed the most wonderful character imaginable. She is a little "food monster" and always knows when it's dinner time.
Obviously we ensure that their welfare and safety is foremost in our minds and would not even consider anything that could jeopardise their fragile little lives at this moment in time.
